We are now in the midst of the largest wave of immigration in history. In every region of the world - Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania - large and growing numbers of people are on the move. While there is a great deal of academic and policy work devoted to the study of immigration, the research focusing on the experiences of immigrant children, youth, and families is limited. The Institute for Immigrant Children, Youth, and Families is devoted to the scholarly study of immigration with a focus on families, children, adolescents, and emerging adults. Through research, publications and media outreach, in collaboration with colleagues across UCLA, and other major national and international immigration research centers, we endeavor to enhance the scholarly understanding of one of the most pervasive and complex issues of our times.. |
